About the Role As an Expansion Manager, your main focus will be to drive sustainable growth by leading expansion strategy, portfolio management, and investment planning for the sales market, ensuring profitable development and alignment with the company’s long-term vision. This hybrid role reports into our General Manager, Canada and is based out of Toronto Support Office. A Day in the Life Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities* Lead the Expansion function in your Sales Market Create conditions to enable performance of teams and individuals in your Sales Market Drive talent management by identifying and developing talents to build a future-ready and diverse organization Strengthen teamwork and foster cross-functional collaboration Create and drive the Sales Market expansion and portfolio management plan to deliver on Brand Plans, based on global strategic direction and in alignment with the Sales Market GM and other departments Drive sales productivity, profitability and cost control, set investment frames, sustainability targets and other goals to deliver on the Brand Plans Review and give input on recommended CAPEX budget allocation against local project portfolio and suggest adaptation when needed Secure a strong vision for the retail space, based on global strategic direction, and put the customer in focus in the expansion strategy Secure commercial input to the portfolio strategy, based on both sales performance and consumer demand, through catchment area analysis Secure project management and strategic alignment of Key Cities in your Sales Market. Secure implementation agenda of the global Omni Store Operating Model Secure roll-out of technical capabilities for full benefit realization from our products and value streams Co-lead Expansion audits and ensure the Sales Market team plans and executes projects in line with company expectations Ensure the expansion teams work with external partners with the highest level of professionalism, and that all negotiations and contract executions are in line with company, legal and ethical standards Review and approve all store network projects within market approval, ensuring that we continuously improve the standard of our business cases and legal language Enable communication flow between the Sales Market and global functions, staying up to date with latest company direction and advocating for your market towards global, as well as enabling synergies across teams Act as a strategic partner to the Sales Market General Manager Promote and drive cross-functional collaboration within and outside the Sales Market Secure high professionalism of teams in your Sales Market Who You Are: Strong leadership and coaching abilities with proven stakeholder management skills Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision and short-term actions Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills Analytical and results-driven, with strong financial acumen Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken Proficient in MS Office Minimum 5 years of experience in Expansion or a senior leadership role within a similar function Solid understanding of expansion strategy, leasing, and construction and facilities management Proven experience leading and developing teams in complex, international environments Demonstrated success working in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders and seniority levels You are communicative, socially confident, and supportive in your leadership.
