Position Description
The Research Supply Centre is an important core service to the research community within the SickKids Research Institute. Located in the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning (PGCRL), the Research Supply Centre represents fifteen vendors and is home to an extensive number of items critical to the discovery that happens in the PGCRL.
To meet the demands of the growing volume of the Research Supply Centre, we are currently recruiting for a Supply Centre Coordinator to support the operations of the facility. In this key role, you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Supply Centre including but not limited to: processing orders, coordinating deliveries, tracking transactions and account receivables, sending invoices to vendors and coordinating vendor shows and other events. You will also be responsible to manage lab user requests and concerns.
Here's What You'll Get to Do:
- Process orders via SickKids ordering system.
- Respond to various queries from users (ordering system questions, backorder discrepancies, etc.).
- Coordinate/process incoming orders to ensure accurate deliveries have arrived to SC, picked back up for delivery by porter staff to end users.
- Perform physical inventory checks.
- Input sales and transaction data to track orders and compile accurate account receivable reports.
- Maintain the Supply Centre ordering database.
- Create detailed quarterly vendor reports sent to all Supply Centre vendors.
- Develop and validate data to compile and monitor important Supply Centre KPIs.
- Work with stakeholders across the organization to train users on the ordering system as individuals or groups to promote awareness of the Supply Centre.
- Coordinate various events with Supply Centre vendors to promote sales of the facility and to increase products knowledge by researchers.
- Create and communicate promotional information through monthly and ad hoc communications and website postings to ensure continued user engagement and to promote use of the facility.
- Other duties as assigned
Here's What You'll Need:
- An undergraduate degree required (experience in science or a health-related field would be an asset).
- Proficient in Outlook and MS Office. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Excellent people and customer service skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
