Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. GFT's impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
The role reports to the Director, PMO and will lead a team of Initiative Managers (project managers and scrum masters) and may also act as an Initiative Lead on select initiatives for the HR & CLAO (HR, BMCC, Procurement and CRE) team. The role will drive consistent execution and reporting across the portfolio as well as provide support for issue resolution, project governance and stakeholder communication. This leader will also develop and implement a community of practice for business system analysts across the team to promote consistency and accelerate upskilling.
What will you do?
- Work with the broader T&O Initiative Delivery community to ensure project risk and governance is followed by the initiative leads
- Support your team in becoming amazing Initiative Managers – coaching, career development, upskilling etc
- Working with the broader team, implement a community of practice for BSA’s across HR & CLAO
- Recommend new ways of working that simplify and/or automate best practices Initiative Managers.
- Work with your team, key stakeholders, app dev teams and vendors to successfully implement initiatives.
- Ensure project status reports are up to date and accurate including financials, issues, risks and key decisions etc.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Proven leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with key stakeholders and vendors
- Experience in Initiative Management (PM or Scrum)
- Enterprise organizational awareness
Nice to Have
- Project Management/Scrum Master certificate/training
- Business Systems Analyst certificate/training
- Experience in HR, BMCC, Procurement and CRE
- Direct people management
