Position Overview

These qualities make you a perfect candidate for our Senior Project Development Engineer. In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of projects in their development phase, including all applicable scopes of work, financials and scheduling. You’ll be accountible for the analysis and development of this portfolio of capital work.

In year 1, you will:

  • Leverage existing systems for project oversight, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful reporting using these tools,
  • Lead a team of professionals and manage day-to-day analysis and support project development activities while building a strong understanding of internal workflows, governance, and decision-making frameworks
  • Prepare and present preliminary reports and technical studies that enable the successful execution of our capital plan.

In year 2, you will:

  • Continue to lead the team in delivering and defending high-quality project development deliverables that align with long-term strategic objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the project development lifecycle. Propose and implement practical, value-driven solutions.

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized program, plus 8 to 12 years related experience in an engineering and leadership capacity.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Exceptional organization with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Deadline driven and an ability to influence others to achieve successful results.
  • Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures, including matters related to labour relations, recruitment and performance management.
