About the role
Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting Downtown Toronto, ON – (onsite 4 days a week) $110,000 - $120,000 base + defined benefit pension plan & premier benefits
We are recruiting for a Canadian private investment enterprise managing a highly sophisticated portfolio of public and private assets. This is a rare corporate seat that offers institutional-scale financial exposure paired with the long-term career stability, capital preservation focus, and incredible perks. These include a highly coveted Defined Benefit Pension Plan.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and the CFO, the Senior Financial Analyst will step into a highly visible position responsible for driving the financial and management reporting engine for the Executive team and the Board. We are looking for someone who is more than just an accountant. We want ideally a CPA-designated senior accountant or Senior Financial Analyst who has FP&A and financial analysis experience coupled with accounting. The group has several individuals already who are excellent accountants, but they lack people who have a knack for planning, budgeting, analysis and forecasting. If you are already experimenting with Claude and other AI tools, even better! This is a group that is in serious upgrade-mode and want to be best-in-class.
Responsibilities: Corporate Accounting & Consolidation: Lead the preparation of complex multi-entity consolidation data, managing quarter-end allocations, intercompany balancing, and third-party data coordination. Investment Portfolio Tracking: Prepare the complex Schedule of Investments for the core financial statement packages, including Fair Market Value (FMV) adjustments and continuous reconciliation against global Investment Team records. Executive Board Reporting: Compile quarterly Board presentation materials, financial statement disclosures, and analytical notes for the C-suite. Budget Planning & Department Liaison: Partner directly with multi-sector Department Heads to compile, analyze, and manage the annual corporate operating budget, providing detailed actual-to-budget variance commentary. Complex Shared Services Modeling: Manage the yearly update and cost-driver validation of the firm's shared services model, presenting allocation strategies and trend data directly to senior leadership. Tax & Continuous Improvement: Partner with internal tax, treasury, and legal groups to prepare year-end schedules for corporate tax filings while spearheading process-automation initiatives across the general ledger. Requirements: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in complex financial consolidation, corporate reporting, or strategic financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Prior financial reporting experience within a sophisticated Financial Services, Asset Management, Private Equity, or Family Office environment is highly preferred. Must possess or be actively tracking toward a Canadian CPA designation. Exposure to ASPE frameworks and complex share capital transactions is considered a strong asset. Exceptional data modeling and analytical skills with a master-level working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
We appreciate the interest of all applicants. Due to the volume of applications, only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted
