About the role

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the education needs of approximately 17,750 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) Grade 4/5 Teacher at Bruderheim School. Must be able to teach French as a Second Language and Physical Education. Will also be responsible for planning for a complex needs student who works outside the classroom in an alternate setting.

Bruderheim School serves approximately 110 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with eight teaching staff and nine support staff. The school is located in Bruderheim, AB, approximately 48 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

  • Effective organization and classroom management skills

  • Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
