The Environment

This is a truly unique opportunity in the field of flight simulation and aviation training. Whether you’re starting your career in simulation technology or bringing years of experience to a new challenge, ITPS offers an unmatched environment.

The International Test Pilots School (ITPS) delivers world-class flight test and tactical training using advanced simulators and real aircraft. Our Advanced Aircraft Simulation Centre (AASC) is at the forefront of immersive training, featuring cutting-edge systems that replicate modern combat and test flight environments.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team now in London, Ontario, and to grow with us as we expand operations to our new, state-of-the-art ITTC facility in North Bay, Ontario, in summer 2026.

ITPS will provide relocation support and financial assistance to ensure a smooth transition for selected team members.

Job Summary

The Flight Simulator Technician will play a key role in the setup, maintenance, and enhancement of ITPS’s Mission Combat Simulator (MCS) systems—used to deliver advanced flight and mission training. The role includes supporting simulator sessions, calibrating hardware, troubleshooting software issues, and integrating new simulation technologies.

While the primary platform is MCS, experience with other flight simulation environments such as DCS (Digital Combat Simulator), X-Plane, and Prepar3D is highly valued. In particular, familiarity with the F/A-18, F-16, and L-39 aircraft modules provides a strong foundation for working within our MCS environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Mission Combat Simulator (MCS) systems for flight test and tactical training.

  • Configure, test, and prepare simulator sessions, including F/A-18, F-16, and L-39 mission profiles.

  • Support hardware and software troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime.

  • Calibrate projection systems, avionics panels, and flight control interfaces.

  • Collaborate with instructors to develop and refine training modules, scenarios, and mission content.

  • Integrate and test new simulation technologies and software updates.

  • Provide technical support to instructors and students during live simulator sessions.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures within the simulation centre.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong enthusiasm for
flight simulation, aviation, and mission systems.

  • Technical aptitude with computer systems, simulator software, and network configuration.

  • Experience with DCS World, X-Plane, or Prepar3D (particularly F/A-18, F-16, and L-39 modules) is a significant asset.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve both hardware and software issues.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a “can-do” attitude.

  • Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize effectively in a dynamic training environment.

  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience creating or editing missions/scenarios in
    DCS, Prepar3D, or similar environments.

  • Familiarity with LUA scripting, multiplayer setup, and mission server configuration.

  • Understanding of mixed-reality simulation, LVCT systems, or networked training architectures.

  • Basic to advanced knowledge of flight dynamics, avionics systems, and aircraft operations.

  • Previous experience in aviation, military, or technical training environments.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Federal statutory holiday schedule.
  • Ongoing professional training and development opportunities.
  • Growth potential within a rapidly expanding organization.
  • Ranked #61 in Canadian Defence Review’s Top 100 Canadian Defence Companies (2024).
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge aviation and simulation technologies.
  • A collaborative and innovative work environment in a modern facility with excellent amenities.
