Bring your technical, financial and consultant acquisition related skills to this position with the Engineering Services Section where you will provide and maintain financial, forecasting and material control for the Engineering Office and provide expert advice to regional engineering management and act as primary contact with the consulting industry regarding the government consultant acquisition process.
About the job
You will:
- ensure that all documentation related to consultant acquisition and administration, and legal agreements conform to ministry policies, procedures and practices
- maintain engineering consultant administrative and financial monitoring systems
- assist in the development and monitoring of consultant performance appraisals
- develop regular financial reports and conduct analysis of expenditures
- resolve issues and inquiries relating to all of the consultant acquisition process
What you bring to the team
Consultant Acquisition and Financial Knowledge
- you have knowledge of processes and guidelines for the procurement and management of consultant services
- you understand financial and accounting methods and practices
- you can conduct analysis of agreement financial data and develop financial reports
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- you communicate effectively and can prepare and present information in a clear and concise manner
- you use your interpersonal skills to resolve agreement issues, prepare correspondence and reports and discuss sensitive tendering information with staff at all levels
Analytical, Reasoning, Evaluative and Problem Solving Skills
- you can analyze agreements and interpret policies
- you use your evaluative and problem solving skills to resolve financial and administrative issues
Computer Knowledge and Skills
- you are proficient with a variety of computer software applications and databases management (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet/Intranet)
Organizational Skills
- you are organized and can coordinate and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
