Wyse Meter Solutions Inc. provides turnkey submetering and utility expense management services to property managers, building owners and developers across Canada. Wyse is unique in its ability to provide energy consumption transparency and accountability to its customers.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Senior Manager, Meter Data Management (MDM) is accountable for the full lifecycle of Wyse's metering data - from field collection through to validation, analysis, and delivery to billing and customer support. The role ensures this data is accurate, timely, and reliable for downstream operational use.
This position bridges Operations and IT, combining hands-on oversight with technical ability and analytical leadership to maintain data flow, troubleshoot system issues, and drive continuous improvements in metering performance and customer outcomes. The Senior Manager also leads a team of analysts responsible for monitoring, resolving, and optimizing meter data processes.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of how metering data is collected and transmitted, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams. Success in this role requires an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to turn data issues into clear, actionable improvements that support billing accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily MDM operations to ensure accurate and complete data collection from field meters through to billing systems.
- Coordinate with IT and vendors to resolve technical or system issues impacting data acquisition or integrity.
- Manage and continuously improve workflows for data validation, exception handling, and performance monitoring.
- Serve as the escalation point for metering data discrepancies, communication failures, or irregular consumption patterns.
- Ensure compliance with Measurement Canada and other applicable regulatory requirements related to metering accuracy, reverification, and audit traceability.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Lead the team in using meter data to support customer service teams in resolving inquiries (e.g., high consumption complaints, data anomalies).
- Analyze consumption patterns and data gaps to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and report operational KPIs related to data quality, network reliability, and billing readiness.
- Provide actionable insights that support decision-making across Operations, Customer Care, and Billing teams.
- Proficient in data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI, Excel) and techniques for working with large, complex datasets to investigate discrepancies, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights.
Process & Quality Improvement
- Implement and enhance quality assurance (QA) processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual tasks, and strengthen data controls.
- Collaborate with IT and metering partners to implement system or process improvements that improve reliability and reduce downtime.
Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of data analysts and specialists.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and clear communication between Operations, IT, and Customer Care.
- Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and influence skills, with the ability to translate complex technical or data insights into clear, actionable messages for stakeholders and senior leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Data engineering roles in operations data-driven operational roles.

Understanding of how operational data is collected, transmitted, and validated, and how it feeds downstream systems (e.g., billing, analytics).

Ability to interpret technical concepts (Power/water consumption, networks, gateways, MDM systems) and communicate effectively with IT teams.

Proficiency in using data to investigate and resolve operational or customer issues. SQL proficiency would be ideal.

Solid understanding of data quality management and performance monitoring processes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using reporting and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

Proven leadership ability to manage and coach teams, prioritize workloads, and deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications - Ideal to Have
- Familiarity with submetering systems and technologies (electric, water, gas, thermal).
- Experience with Meter Data Management (MDM) platforms or related utility data systems.
- Exposure to advanced metering infrastructure (AMI/AMR) and IoT device networks.
- Knowledge of energy management or demand response programs.
