Position Purpose
Responsible for the interior and exterior general cleaning and upkeep of the ROC Chalet, facilities and property as well as snowmaking and snow removal. For full details, please see attached job description.
Minimum Qualifications
-
You must provide your own personal equipment: outdoor boots, indoor non slip steel toe shoes, eyewear, layering clothes and gloves. Jacket and snow pants will be provided by the Corporation.

Valid Class G Driver's Licence;

MTO Drivers Abstract Results deemed as satisfactory by the Town;

Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC); deemed as satisfactory by the Town;

Previous custodial experience an asset;

Previous snow making experience is an asset;

Position Summary
Responsible for the interior and exterior general cleaning and upkeep of the ROC Chalet, facilities and property as well as snowmaking and snow removal.
Responsibilities
-
Responsible for opening and closing ROC Chalet.
-
Position includes shift work such as days, evenings, weekends, overnight.
-
Maintains Chalet and surrounding Cafeteria area for cleanliness and debris;
-
Clears snow, ice and/or debris from sidewalks/grounds and fire exits as required;
-
Reports any equipment problems/failures to the supervisor immediately;
-
Ensures cleanliness of common areas, picks up debris, empties trash containers and keeps entire facility trash and litter free;
-
Maintains restrooms including washing sinks, floors, emptying trash cans, cleaning toilets and stalls, picking up litter, and ensuring adequate stock of restroom provisions;
-
Sweeps, mops, washes, floors; washes windows; walls, fixtures & appliances; & dusts surrounding areas;
-
Supports in producing quality snow with the use of snowmaking equipment;
-
Operates various types of motorized equipment on and off the hill (i.e side by side and plowing equipment)

Maintains snowmaking and related equipment;
-
Performs snow removal as required with Ventrac, walking behind blower, shovelling, etc.;
-
Maintaining outdoor Fire pit.

Participate in the Town's Health and Safety Program and follow safety practices in work methods and procedures; observes and complies with all relevant Health & Safety regulations. Assists with lift maintenance and operation.

Skill/Knowledge Requirements
- Previous custodial experience an asset;
- Previous snow making experience is an asset;
- Knowledge of and compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation;
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public, staff, suppliers, contractors, etc.;
- Ability to perform tasks in confined areas, high areas and on ladders;
- Ability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis;
- Ability to perform strenuous physical duties in winter conditions and to work in and withstand severe cold and adverse weather conditions;
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and holidays;
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence;
