POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a strategic and experienced National Strategic Account Manager to lead our national account initiatives and manage a high-performing team of account professionals. This role is responsible for overseeing key client relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring consistent service delivery across Canada.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of Strategic Account Managers across multiple regions. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer excellence within the team.
- Strategic Account Management: Develop and execute national account strategies to drive growth, retention, and profitability. Serve as the senior point of contact for high-value industrial clients.
- Client Engagement: Conduct regular business reviews and strategic planning sessions with clients and internal teams. Identify opportunities for cross-selling, upselling, and expanding service offerings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operations, procurement, marketing, and technical services to deliver integrated solutions that meet client needs.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor account performance, pipeline activity, and team metrics. Report regularly on progress and strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and maintain a competitive advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in strategic account management or sales within industrial distribution.
- 3+ years of experience managing people or leading teams.
- Willingness to travel nationally as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level clients.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Highly motivated individual who shows initiative and is focused on achieving results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to travel nationally as required for client meetings, strategic reviews, and team management.
