Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports mail services within two separate hospital environments with two different mail processes. Personal delivery and pickup at 50 Charlton and mailbox sort and pickup in a centralized mailroom at CMHS 100 West 5th. Ensuring all incoming and outgoing mail at both sites is sorted, prioritized, metered as necessary, within a designated timeframe in order to meet daily deadlines in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Three to six months in a customer service role, with some knowledge of postage meters and processing machines
- Basic skill level in MS Excel, MS Word, Spelling, and Email
- Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process.
- Ability to perform average mathematical calculations
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job on a daily basis
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with frequent re-prioritizing
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to follow instructions
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Possess the flexibility to quickly relieve or assist others as needed
RESPONSIBLITIES
Some responsibilities include:
- Sort and process large volumes of incoming mail and small packages for all internal services and departments throughout the hospital including outlying SJH programs
- Sort and process large volumes of incoming and outgoing for Canada Post, Medco's courier and Carecor and ensure all is accurately metered and charged to correct chargeback account. Manage all aspects of the digital mail machine including repairs, monthly downloads and generating financial reports monthly or as needed. Required to practice due diligence relating to account numbers (add, delete or correct accounts).
- Exercise due diligence in order to confirm correct addresses or locations for staff, physicians and programs
- Maintain a current mailbox/occupant listing for the CMHS and initiate revisions as required
- Log daily courier packages forwarded for delivery from Receiving and respond to queries regarding these packages
- Collect data for the purpose of statistical reporting by management as requested
- Maintain work environment in a safe and orderly manner at all times
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager
WAGE RATE
Hourly: $27.22....$28.41....$29.60
(plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
