About the role
Kindly is building the future of aging and family care in Canada.
We're on a mission to make one of life's most difficult experiences easier. Every day, millions of Canadians are balancing work while caring for aging parents, spouses, or loved ones—often with little guidance, fragmented resources, and overwhelming complexity. We believe families deserve better. Kindly combines Canada's leading licensed care experts with thoughtfully designed technology to help families navigate every stage of the caregiving journey. From understanding a new diagnosis and finding home care to coordinating services, comparing senior living options, and building personalized care plans, we're transforming how Canadians access and experience care.
Our platform is delivered nationally as an employee benefit through some of Canada's leading employers and is also available directly to families across the country. As Canada's population ages, we're building the infrastructure that will support millions of caregivers while helping employers reduce burnout, absenteeism, and productivity loss.
We're backed by Simple Ventures and some of Canada's leading founders and operators, including leaders behind Wealthsimple, Shopify, Ada, and TD.
Joining Kindly means joining a mission-driven, high-growth company at a defining moment. You'll have the opportunity to build alongside an ambitious team, solve meaningful problems, and create a product that has a lasting impact on families across Canada.
The Opportunity
You will be Kindly's primary product engineer, inheriting a live platform and working directly with the CEO and functional leads.
The Kindly platform is an enterprise grade platform, supporting some of Canada’s top organizations, while also supporting a nation wide care delivery team. Our roadmap is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients, spanning new member-facing products, enterprise capability for employer clients, and an agentic layer that supports how care actually gets coordinated.
This is a broad role by design. You will build product, operate the infrastructure it runs on, and build the growth systems that bring new families to us. You will be close enough to customers to hear the problem yourself rather than through a summary.
We work with agentic AI tools as our default way of building, and we expect you to be genuinely strong with them.
What You'll Do
Build and ship product — new member-facing features and tools that help families understand their situation, make decisions, and coordinate care together.
Own the platform and infrastructure — ship and operate the system in production, including deployments, observability, database changes, and critical integrations, alongside the internal system our care team uses every day.
Build enterprise capability — the access, reporting, localization, and billing infrastructure our employer clients need in order to roll us out at scale.
Build agentic capability — an AI coordination layer that supports our care team with the ongoing logistics of managing care.
Build the growth engine — the marketing site and conversion surfaces, technical SEO and content infrastructure, lifecycle messaging, analytics, and attribution, working alongside our marketing lead to turn strategy into shipped systems.
Work within our security controls — we sell to large regulated employers and maintain a SOC 2 program supported by a dedicated compliance advisor and clear engineering guardrails. You will work within them and know when to escalate.
Stay close to customers — join client and sales conversations, understand the problem directly, and turn what you learn into product.
Who You Are
You have built and shipped real software that people used. What you have made matters more to us than where you worked.
You are AI-native. You work fluently with agentic tools such as Claude Code and have strong instincts for what they can and cannot do well.
You are comfortable owning a TypeScript stack across React, Vite, and Next.js, with Supabase, Postgres, and Vercel underneath it. Exact framework experience matters less than your ability to understand and safely operate the whole system.
You are resourceful. When you hit something unfamiliar, your instinct is to go figure it out rather than wait for someone who already knows.
You have a design eye. What you ship should look considered.
You want breadth. Working across product, growth, and customer problems in the same week is the appeal, not the drawback.
You are a clear communicator who works well with non-technical colleagues.
Bonus: familiarity with health tech, benefits tech, or privacy and compliance frameworks (PHIPA, PIPEDA, SOC 2, Vanta), French language capability, or a design background.
We are open on years of experience. What matters is evidence that you can independently build, ship, and operate production software. That might come from a few years in industry, a startup you built, or an exceptional body of independent work.
Why Join Now
Real ownership — you will own the platform end to end and influence what gets built rather than executing someone else's specification.
Range — few roles let you move between product, infrastructure, growth engineering, and customer conversations. This one does, deliberately.
Build with the best tools available — we are an AI-native team and we expect our tooling and workflows to be ahead of the market, not behind it.
Exceptional backing — we are backed by Simple Ventures and connected to a network of Canada's strongest founders, employers, and health innovators including the founders and leaders of Wealthsimple, Shopify, Knix, Ada and more.
Meaningful equity — you will hold a real stake in what you build and the impact it creates.
A category ready for change — eldercare is a $30 billion market in Canada and it is still largely offline. Your work will help millions of Canadians balance work and family care with more dignity and less chaos.

About Kindly
Kindly helps Canadians navigate aging and care with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
When someone you love needs care, the decisions can feel overwhelming. Options are fragmented, systems are complex, and the emotional weight is heavy. Kindly exists so families don’t have to figure it out alone.
We’re a Canadian-made aging and family care navigation platform built specifically for Canada’s public and private care systems, with deep expertise across provinces and regions. Every Kindly Care Expert is a licensed expert. Not a coach or chatbot, with real, hands-on experience supporting families through aging, dementia, health changes, and care transitions.
Our approach is human-centred by design. We go beyond one-off advice or directories by pairing 1:1 expert guidance with a personalized care plan that gives families a clear roadmap forward. No hidden fees. No add-ons. Just practical, compassionate support when it matters most.
For families, Kindly means less time managing logistics and stress, and more time with the people you care about.
For employers, Kindly is an aging and family care navigation benefit that helps employees manage the mental load of caregiving, reducing burnout, absenteeism, and productivity loss. By providing expert navigation and coordination, we help organizations support the growing number of employees in the “sandwich generation” while strengthening retention, wellbeing, and their overall employee value proposition.
Kindly is powered by Canada’s leading licensed care experts who have guided thousands of families nationwide.
You don’t have to do this alone. We’ll help you find your way forward.
Available through select Canadian employers as part of employee benefits, and directly to families across Canada.
