About the role
The successful candidate will perform as a Second Line Manager (SLM) of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team within Engineering and Technology (E&T) organization. The SLM will report to the Head of E&T for Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) and provide functional support to ILS professionals across all Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) sites and will work minimum two days in the office per week at one of the major Lockheed Martin Sites. The candidate will function in a fast-paced, dynamic, matrixed work environment and provide day-to-day oversight and guidance for the ILS First Line Managers (FLMs) and support the other E&T SLM while balancing the technical responsibilities of their assigned program(s) or other technical area of responsibility.
SLM Responsibilities:
- Develop, evolve and oversee the ILS vision & roadmap for Lockheed Martin including technology, methods, tools, metrics and processes.
People:
- Facilitates and ensures technical vitality of the team to meet current and strategic requirements
- Fosters career development and employee growth for Program Leads, Functional Leaders, Individual Contributors and Future Business Leaders
- Establishes and Implements Organizational Training and Development Plans
- Fosters Employee Feedback, Recognition, and Engagement
- Proactively communicates with all stakeholders
- Ensures flow-down of tactical information and strategic vision
- Implements hiring, recruiting, sizing, workshare and retention initiatives to meet near and long term needs.
Customers / Growth / Financials
- Provides technical leadership and oversight of ILS program performance
- Ensures cost, schedule and technical commitments are met for all ILS work products
- Ensures appropriate Basis of Estimate (BOE)'s are applied and risk and opportunities are identified and managed
- Guides resolution of technical issues across programs
- Deploys experts, best practices, and reuse of products, components, and infrastructure
- Provides technology linkage and knowledge sharing across programs, E&T and other Lockheed Martin Functions
- Manages staffing and resource allocation across programs to meet technical, cost and schedule
- Supports E&T strategy development and implements continuous improvements, common processes, tools, products, infrastructure and services
- Support New Business Acquisition and Research and Development (R&D) projects consistent with the ILS Roadmap.
What you bring to the role

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
- Minimum of 12 years overall experience in the naval defence field/industry
- Detailed Knowledge of overall ILS processes
- Proven experience working on a large scale engineering project
- Project experience working with the Agile development process
- Proven experience as a Level 1 engineering manager in the defence industry
- Demonstrate an honest, open, respectful, team oriented, positive attitude
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to lead through change and ambiguous circumstances.
- Knowledge of Lockheed Martin ILS tools and products including Combat Management System 330 (CMS 330), Trainers, Reprogrammable Advanced Multimode Shipboard Electronic Countermeasures System (RAMSES), and Visual Interactive Simulation Training Application (VISTA) is considered an asset.
Language Requirements in Quebec
Knowledge of the English language is required for this role as the position described in this posting requires the candidate to communicate every day with a virtual team outside Quebec as well as communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.

$149,500 - $196,500
