Your Impact

You will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and performance of the tailings storage facility (TSF). By ensuring strong governance, monitoring, and response practices, you help protect people, the environment, and operations while supporting safe, compliant, and efficient tailings management.

As part of our team you will
  • Monitor TSF performance using instrumentation data and field inspections
  • Assess performance against Quantitative Performance Objectives (QPOs)
  • Apply and manage Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs), including tracking exceedances and coordinating actions
  • Support tailings deposition planning and water management activities
  • Maintain and update OMS manuals and Emergency Response Plans (ERP)
  • Contribute to annual regulatory and Ministry reporting
  • Review consultant deliverables and support implementation of recommendations
  • Assist with Dam Safety Inspections (DSI), Dam Safety Reviews (DSR), and ITRB engagement
  • Support day-to-day TSF operational activities as required
Prerequisites for your success in this role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, Mining Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in tailings or geotechnical engineering
  • Eligible for P.Eng. registration with EGBC within 6 months
  • Experience with TSF monitoring, instrumentation, and performance tracking
  • Working knowledge of BC Mines Health Safety and Reclamation Code (HSRC) and the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management
Your work environment

You will work in a collaborative, safety-first mining environment, partnering with operations, technical experts, and external consultants. This role combines field-based inspections with office-based analysis, offering hands-on involvement in critical infrastructure alongside opportunities to influence best practices in tailings management.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$94,100.00 to 125,400.00 per year . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
