Responsibilities for Bilingual CBSA Security Guard
- Protect individuals, property, and assets within a CBSA facility
- Escort detainees safely within the premises using restraints when required
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and compassion when working with individuals under stress
- Observe, monitor, and document detainee behaviour, escalating concerns as needed
- Conduct regular indoor and outdoor foot patrols
- Perform frequent wellness and safety checks
- Utilize security systems, software, and equipment effectively
- Respond quickly to emergencies using tactical communication and de-escalation techniques
- Complete detailed and accurate incident and daily activity reports
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a minimum of 5 years residency in Canada
- High school diploma or equivalent (proof required)
- Ability to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Minimum 1 year of tactical security experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations
- Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service skills
