About the role
Summary/Objective:
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth with our strategic distributors and Western specialty and retail accounts. Key strategic accounts in multiple provinces. Expanding all business’ while penetrating the Finica portfolio. The role involves building strong relationships with customers and wholesaler sales teams, negotiating promotional activity, developing and owning specific customer JBP’s. Improving store distributions, presenting and gaining NPD listings, while driving growth and delivering on monthly & annual KPI’s. The Key Account Manager will manage current customer accounts and explore new business opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Reports to the National Sales Manager – FS, B2B & Specialty Retail
- Direct Sales to Distributors, Regional Grocery and the H&W sectors.
- Owning the head office, category manager, buyer and where applicable store manager relationships with: Execute against monthly KPI’s including forecasting, trade spend management, speed to market on NPD, portfolio expansion, co-ordinate seasonal opportunities.Using reporting analytics, determine best plan for listing gaps, feature pricing opportunities, merchandising solutions and improved profitability through ordering and logistics efficiencies.Manage the current roster and new opportunities with the Finica global portfolio of products. List NPDs & inform customer base of any delistings.Deliver sales budget, complete and update forecasting tools, manage for profit.Conduct monthly updates with customer channels and quarterly updates with senior customer personnel so that monthly sales targets are being metAs needed business reviews & updates with Finica leadership team.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualification:
- Minimum 3 years selling experience to most of the Regional Grocery Accounts.
- Reliable transportation as this role requires monthly travel & inter provincial travel.
- Ideally Post Secondary School in business/ marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access & Teams. Willingness to learn other internal systems
- Understanding of the grocery channel environment
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, with a proven track record in building and managing customer relationships
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple accounts
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to identify new business opportunities
- Willingness to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs
- High degree of professionalism and integrity, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to ethical business practices.
- Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and supply chain.
- Positive work attitude & interpersonal skills - able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
- Good Math skills, Excellent verbal & written communication and negotiation skills
Working Conditions:
- This role will be hybrid- in office 2-3 times a week home office based
- Driving and overnight travel is a regular requirement of this role
