We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Learning Assistant to support our Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) classrooms. This role is ideal for industry professionals, current students, or recent graduates of Early Childhood Education who are eager to make a difference in the lives of learners and contribute to a positive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Learning Assistant, you’ll work closely with Lead Instructors and Instructors to enhance the learning experience for students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with lesson preparation and setting up classroom materials and equipment
  • Copying instructional materials, assignments, and exams
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Supporting students during class to reinforce key concepts and assist with assignments
  • Supervising students during class and in the absence of the Lead Instructor
  • Observing and reporting developmental concerns to instructors
  • Assisting with field trips and special events
  • Providing tutoring and supporting student services activities
  • Distributing and collecting teaching materials, tests, and assignments
  • Assisting with marking tests and assignments as directed
  • Taking attendance and enforcing classroom policies
  • Supporting students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding student information
  • Performing other duties as needed to support the team and college goals

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar educational role or in a child care setting
  • Current ELCC students must maintain strong academic performance and attendance

Skills & Competencies:

  • Approachable with strong listening skills
  • Patient and supportive with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Familiarity with classroom routines and behavior management
  • Professional, respectful, and composed in all interactions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, proactive, and passionate about helping others succeed
