About the role

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the physical upkeep of the facility, internally, and externally (with the exception of specific pitch maintenance).

  • Cleanliness of the facility and equipment including oversight of the third-party janitorial staff.

  • Ensuring that all daily operational needs are met in a timely manner.

  • Regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure any maintenance, cleanliness or safety issues are logged and resolves in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring that all pathways are clear, addressing any hazards in weather related as needed.

  • Uphold exceptional customer service and professionalism through-out all day-to-day practises and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Oversee repairs and maintenance of equipment and physical assets.

  • Respond to all maintenance issues in a timely manner and proactively maintain recordkeeping.

  • Assist in ongoing enhancement and compliance with office policies, safety regulations and emergency procedures.

  • Plan and execute safety and evacuation drills and training of designated floor wardens.

  • Coordinate inventory maintenance, receiving and storage management of the facility’s warehouse and other supply storage areas on site. Work closely with the clubs’ equipment staff to support organization and cleanliness of training equipment storage areas.

  • Maintenance of cold and hot tubs, & sauna at highest level.

  • Preventative maintenance management of facility and equipment, and coordination of successful annual inspections.

  • Manage vendor relationships and support the team with purchasing requirements.

  • Oversee day-to-day relationship with UBC Building Operations to ensure smooth operations and any reporting issues in the training centre.

  • Serve as a point of contact for any building-related issues, including but not limited to security access, cleanliness, and pest control ensuring a safe and well-maintained work environment.

  • Oversee building access system, security, and parking authorization for the facility.

  • Manage maintenance of club owned and operated vehicles.

  • Coordinate loading, transporting, and delivery of items as needed.

  • Supervise facility related projects as required.

  • Support Soccer Operations projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of facility operations or maintenance experience, ideally in a high‑traffic or multi‑purpose environment.

  • Strong knowledge of facility systems, preventative maintenance practices, and basic repair troubleshooting.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee vendors, contractors, and janitorial teams while maintaining high cleanliness standards.

  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize urgent operational needs and complete accurate recordkeeping.

  • Strong understanding of workplace safety, emergency procedures, and the ability to lead safety drills and compliance initiatives.

  • Effective communicator with a commitment to professionalism and customer service when working cross‑functionally.

  • Comfortable managing inventory, storage areas, and club-operated vehicles, including coordinating deliveries and equipment logistics.

  • Ability to perform regular facility walkthroughs, identify hazards, and respond to maintenance or weather‑related issues promptly.
