Assistant Site Superintendent – Urbacon

Role Objectives

The Assistant Site Superintendent will assist and support the main site superintendent in managing daily construction activities, with ensuring the successful on-site delivery of projects — safely, on time, within budget, coordinating subcontractors and trades, managing site documentation and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in keeping track of site staff records daily report that tracts site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information. Provide electronic reporting as necessary and required.

  • Supervise & mange field employees, making sure their work is planned and performed efficiently and make sure their time sheets are accurately coded.

  • Assisting the construction superintendent with project site meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression.

  • Placing material orders and being in charge of the tools and supplies on the job site.

  • Controlling & ensuring we are meeting compliance with safety regulations on site. in health, safety and environmental protection on the project.

  • Organize regular trade meetings and safety meetings as directed.

  • Examining the construction schedule and budget, becoming familiar with them and making sure they are followed. Work with PM on project schedules.

  • Coordinate schedule, plan, correspond with all trade contractors.

  • Controlling and maintaining a safe, organized, clean site.

  • Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specification, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that high quality standards are maintained.

  • Be fully trained and maintain status in WHMI, First Aid, Fall Arrest and all other applicable safety training required for all competent supervisors in the Province of Ontario.

  • Be well versed in Ontario Building Code (O.B.C.)

  • Liaise, arrange, schedule and close out all related inspections and documents necessary for authorities having jurisdiction approvals.

  • Track and complete all deficiencies as noted on consultant and A.H.J. Reports.

Candidate Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a construction related field.

  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of ICI construction experience.

  • Maintaining a valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license and having access to a vehicle for the purpose of performing duties.

  • Assist and be capable of obtaining security background clearances required by any institutional, airport authority, provincial, federal and any entity Urbacon is engaged with for construction purposes.   • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office tools and Procore

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
