Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Onboarding, the Recruiter plays a key role in bringing top talent into the Calgary Stampede by delivering a full‑cycle recruitment experience that’s strategic, people‑focused, and aligned with organizational goals. You’ll partner closely with business units to understand their workforce needs, champion our culture, and help new team members start their journey with confidence. From high‑volume seasonal hiring to specialized year‑round roles, you’ll help shape the teams that bring the Stampede spirit to life.
Role and Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with business units to understand workforce goals, team dynamics, and evolving business needs
- Understand and effectively communicate the Employee Value Proposition of the Calgary Stampede and the Calgary Stampede Foundation
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, offering guidance on market trends, candidate availability, and selection best practices
- Conduct end‑to‑end recruitment for seasonal and year‑round roles ensuring a positive and engaging candidate experience, including:
- Sourcing and talent pipelining
- Screening and interviewing
- Candidate assessment and presentation
- Coordinating interviews and managing timelines
- Offer preparation and delivery
- Documentation and compliance
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date information in tracking and reporting tools
- Use data insights to refine recruitment processes and enhance efficiency
- Promote the Calgary Stampede at career fairs, community events, and through partnerships with local organizations
- Participate in onboarding initiatives and program delivery to help new employees feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success
- Participate in special projects, talent initiatives, and team activities that help elevate the overall Talent Acquisition & Onboarding function.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Post-secondary certification in Human Resources or business-related field
- RPR designation is considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in sourcing and recruiting, preferably within an HR department
- Strong understanding of employment standards and how it pertains to recruitment
- Proficient in MS office suite
- Proficient in all recruiting lifecycle components including sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, offer negotiation and closing
- Experience using Human Resources Information Systems is considered an asset
- Experience supporting high volume recruiting cycles
- Ability to work independently, with strong initiative, organizational skills and within deadlines
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and efficiently handle multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication, listening and customer service skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across various levels in an organization
