Join Our Team as a Service Estimator!
Maxan is looking for a highly organized, proactive Service Estimator to join our Service Division.
Reporting to the Service Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting Maxan’s Service team by preparing accurate estimates for service work including repairs, alterations, and modifications. The Service Estimator works closely with the Service Superintendent, internal teams, and clients to ensure work is priced efficiently, scheduled effectively, and delivered to Maxan’s high standards of safety, quality, and service.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, enjoys multi-tasking and problem-solving, and is comfortable coordinating between field teams, customers, and internal departments to keep projects moving.
Our Service team handles a wide range of projects and service calls, so the ideal candidate will be someone who can prioritize multiple requests, respond quickly to client needs, and stay organized while managing several estimates and service requests at once.
What You’ll Do:
- Attend site visits and meetings to assess scope and prepare accurate estimates
- Complete quantity take-offs and prepare detailed estimates for service work
- Respond to service calls and coordinate with field teams to support project needs
- Follow up regularly on quotes, tenders, and potential opportunities
- Review contracts and accepted quotations to ensure accuracy and scope alignment
- Prepare work orders and material order sheets
- Coordinate with customers and clients to gather information and facilitate quotations
- Organize and attend client site visits to support service requests and generate future work
- Stay informed on new materials, systems, and techniques through manufacturer seminars, trade shows, and industry events
- Attend association, industry, and networking events to promote Maxan and our services
What You Bring:
- 3-5 years of estimating experience in drywall, interiors, or architectural products
- Subcontractor experience is considered a strong asset
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and construction drawings
- Strong understanding of construction methods and principles
- Excellent organization and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and client coordination skills
- Sales mindset with the ability to build relationships and generate opportunities
- Post-secondary education in a construction-related program is an asset
- Experience with estimating and office software (MS Office, Bluebeam)
