Title: Rental Technician
Department: Rentals
Reports to: Rentals Lead Supervisor

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Rentals Lead Supervisor, this is a seasonal position November to April. As a technician you will be required to provide excellent guest service. You are here to make the guests skiing/snowboarding experience a memorable one. You will take on the responsibility of accurately adjusting ski and snowboard bindings and verifying that equipment is in working order. You will provide the guest with all the knowledge for them to have a successful and fun visit to Mt Seymour. You must be at least 17 years of age for these positions.

THIS POSITION IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • You have a passion for helping people and providing great service to guests.
  • You can utilize safe and efficient methods while working on ski and snowboard equipment to ensure that a high standard of service is provided to guests and staff at Mt Seymour.
  • You can adjust ski and snowboard equipment in line with Mt Seymour’s policies and procedures to achieve a safe and comfortable fit for all guests.
  • You can ensure all rentals forms are completed in a neat and accurate manner.
  • You are 17 yrs or older

Responsibilites:

  • Fit boots using a foot sizer, buckle and adjust boots for guests, ensuring they are as comfortable as possible.
  • Select and adjust ski and snowboard equipment according to guest’s personal needs and information given on Techstation.
  • Ensure all liability forms are signed by both guest and technician.
  • Provide first time skiers and snowboarders with the extra attention they require
  • Pre-set school and group equipment with accuracy.
  • Accurately record changes to school/group equipment as required (Programs and RSP). - Understand the RSP Pass system.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of building and have safety as your number one concern.
  • Maintain an awareness for defective equipment (skis, snowboards, boots, poles).
  • Be knowledgeable of mountain daily activities, special events, guest facilities and all promotional material available to guests.
  • Other related duties as required

What we require from you:

  • Able to lift 40 lbs of equipment/gear for up to 1 km.
  • Sustain physical activity for 8 working hours.
  • Stand for 8 working hours.
  • All technicians must be 17 years old as of December 1, 2025.
  • Must be available for Christmas and March school breaks, morning, and night shifts.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Exceptional friendly, helpful, and caring attitude towards guests and co-workers
  • Certified HEAD/Tyrolia binding technician an asset (Mt Seymour provides training and certification).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be a supportive team member.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Seasonal position, November through to mid-April.
  • $18.50 - $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Complimentary season pass and shuttle bus pass.
