Posting Period: February 5, 2026 - February 14, 2026 As a member of an inter-professional team and working under full scope of practice, the role of the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at Providence Care is to deliver safe, effective, patient centred care to assigned patients in a non-acute setting as outlined by hospital policies and procedures and the Standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario. The RPN will assist patients and their caregivers to manager clinical conditions and transitions and enhance quality of life by meeting the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each person.
Skills And Qualifications Required
- Active, unrrestricted license to practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certificate
- College certificate required, diploma preferred
- Medication Certificate dated after 1985 which meets the requirements of the Ontario College of Nurses, if graduated before 1985
Position Responsibilities
- Completing a nursing history based on information received from the patient, family and other sources.
- Developing and recording a goal oriented nursing care plan focused on immediate needs in collaboration with the patient.
- Performing interventions for which he/she can manage the outcomes or has resources to manage the outcomes.
- Accurately following the prescribed medical regime
- Re-assessing the plan in terms of goals set.
- Recognizes unusual patient responses and consults with others as required.
- Revising nursing care plan based on evaluation using professional judgment
