About the role

The Production Team Leader coaches/mentors team members into becoming self-sufficient teams. Assist supervisors with the coordination of activities of production workers by performing the following duties. Must lead by example consistently.

Pay Rate $27.80/hr

  • Verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, work instructions, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties as needed.
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules with Production Supervisor’s approval.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and performs basic inspections of material when required.
  • Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

  • A minimum of four years of experience in a productions role (some management experience preferred) (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year College or technical school preferred
  • Must know all quality procedures.
  • Must know how to use barcode gun.
  • Must know all parts and their functions.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision

PREFERRED Skills/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to operate all work stations in the plant
  • Ability to operate all machinery
  • Demonstrates ability to handle daily personnel issues (attendance, written warnings and disciplinary action).
  • Demonstrates ability to verify quality issues shown on defective code list.
  • Demonstrates ability to verify shipments ( both inbound and outbound )
  • Understands and follows ISO 9001-2004 standards
  • Understands and follows containment/reject procedure.
  • Understands and follows loading procedure.
  • Understands and follows staging procedure.
  • Demonstrates ability to schedule production for the shift.
  • Can operate bar code reader.
