CONTINUING EDUCATION TEACHER

Purpose of Position The Continuing Education Teacher will work with Grade 11 and 12 students to support summer learning opportunities. Students may be engaged in a co-operative education placement or full-credit eLearning courses. The educator will need to conduct virtual and onsite workplace visits across the region, monitor, support and assess student progress, provide office hours (minimum 3 hours/week), synchronous instruction and asynchronous support including feedback, as well as provide support to ensure successful access and engagement with eLearning courses. The creation of inclusive environments will be required to meet the needs of all learners.
The successful candidate will support students in the Superior-Greenstone District School Board region through student-familiar virtual platforms and various communication tools.
The successful candidate will communicate and coordinate with SGDSB staff, the Summer Learning team and the Summer Learning Principal to fulfill the needs of the students and the program.
Hours of Work
- The position will commence on June 1, 2026, and conclude August 7, 2026.
- The timetable will be determined based on student registration and program needs.
- Five hours per day starting June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026.
- After School hours may be required to meet with students. This will be determined based on student need.
Qualifications

- Valid Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification, in good standing.
- Virtual teaching experience preferred.
- Co-operative Educational qualifications required.
- Familiarity with online course environments such as D2L/Brightspace, virtual management platforms (Hours Republic), Microsoft Teams and/or Google Classroom.
- Demonstrated regular work attendance
Applications MUST include a resume outlining qualifications, experience and an up-to-date Certificate of Qualification. Applicants must also submit the names of three (3) professional references, one of whom must be a current or most recent immediate supervisor, along with telephone numbers and email addresses, and a written authorization from the applicant permitting the Board to contact these references.
