About the role

Your Opportunity:

As key members of the nursing team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are responsible to provide safe, person-centered nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for clients in continuing care settings. They collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, administer medications and treatments, and support clients in daily living to enhance their health and quality of life. This role focuses on Continuing Care at the Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre, a 60-bed Type A facility that includes two secure units of 40 dementia-care beds. Lloydminster is Canada's only border city, offering breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, vast farmlands, and rolling river hills. The community is culturally diverse, with a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that celebrates people from all backgrounds. It features a vibrant mix of locally owned boutiques, spas, and restaurants, along with a variety of businesses and amenities. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Continuing Care nursing is preferred. Training in Connect Care and proficiency in general computer skills are also desirable. Experience with care planning and interRAI LTCF is beneficial, along with CCHSS education. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team.
