The Position

The Global Clinical Operations (PDG) team at Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development is dedicated to transforming drug development and achieving our Pharma Ambition of delivering 20 transformative medicines by 2029.

Join us in this high-impact role where you will lead the strategic management and performance of end-to-end, enterprise-wide clinical service provider technology/emerging categories across Roche's global clinical operations organizations. This is a unique opportunity to provide leadership, direction, and vision to a team of Enterprise Key Category Partnership Managers, driving significant business impact through strategic supplier partnerships.

The Opportunity

You will be instrumental in accelerating clinical development and delivering measurable business impact by:

  • Providing leadership, direction, and vision for the Enterprise Key Category Partnership Managers, championing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies across five clinical operations organizations (early research & development, clinical operations and medical affairs)
  • Developing a high-level strategic sourcing framework for emerging clinical categories, balancing business drivers and risks
  • Creating and implementing strategies in partnership with Key Stakeholders to meet current and future business needs (e.g., cost, speed, quality) and ensure key supplier partnerships contribute directly to achieving the Roche Pharma Ambition
  • Demonstrating mastery in managing highly complex relationships to benefit the portfolio, leading governance meetings and regular partner check-ins for health and performance review
  • Driving a culture of innovation, smart risk-taking, and customer centricity within and across clinical operations at Roche
  • Exercising financial oversight to optimize spend and drive cost efficiencies, including budget benchmarking and change order oversight
  • Fostering innovation and driving best practices across key suppliers and key supplier category leads, acting as an expert who strategically architects and shapes the clinical trial service provider landscape

Who you are

You are a proven people leader and a recognized expert in the clinical trial supplier landscape, specifically clinical technologies (e.g. IXRS, eCOA) and other emerging categories. You are a strategic thinker with a track record of driving complex global initiatives and building high-performing teams.

  • Extensive relevant experience in strategic supplier performance management and clinical trial operations in clinical development
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Healthcare Management) or relevant professional certifications is preferred
  • Proven people leader, with a track record of attracting, retaining, and developing team members and teams
  • Expertise in the clinical technology service provider landscape (e.g., IRT, eCOA, imaging, patient recruitment/retention) and recognized as an expert within several areas within the clinical trial supplier landscape
  • Exemplary supplier relationship management skills, with a proven track record in developing successful global partnerships at strategic and executive levels
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and build consensus, acting as a role model, demonstrating curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, inclusive collaboration, and a desire for continuous learning
