The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a balanced background in data center operations, DevOps methodologies, and cloud-native practices. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational excellence.

Role Summary:

The Director of Technology works closely with other members of the technology team to develop CENGN’s long-term strategy and annual technology plans. They are an engaged leader, building a high performing team and promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence, and driving positive change for the organization. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Technology works with senior levels of technical engineers and leaders to plan, develop, support, and operate the different components of the CENGN platform. This environment integrates various CENGN partner technologies into one cohesive system capable of accepting test and verification projects for CENGN’s clients. The Director manages CENGN’s technology strategy built around a modern automation framework and contributes to its continuous development.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Leadership and Strategy Development:

·       Provide strategic direction for the engineering department in alignment with CENGN's overall mission and objectives.

·       Lead and inspire a team of engineers and technology professionals to achieve operational excellence through early adoption and innovation.

·       Technology Infrastructure Management:

·       Oversee the implementation, and maintenance of CENGN's technology infrastructure, including networking, hardware, and software systems.

·       Ensure that CENGN's technology platforms are robust, scalable, and secure to support the organization's projects and initiatives.

·       Define and deliver CENGN’s services, which will continue to evolve due to the rapid evolution of emerging network technologies.

·       Program Management Office:

·       Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize project workflows.

·       Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement:

·       Represent CENGN in external forums, conferences, and events to promote the organization's expertise and thought leadership in technology operations.

·       Cybersecurity Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

·       Ensure cybersecurity compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in engineering technology operations.

·       Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard CENGN's technology assets and data privacy.

·       Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance:

·       Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and standards to uphold the integrity and reliability of CENGN's technology solutions.

·       Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains, driving continuous improvement initiatives across engineering technology operations.

·       Risk Management and Disaster Recovery:

·       Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential threats to CENGN's technology infrastructure. Establish robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize disruptions and ensure the resilience of CENGN's services and systems. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

·       Manage the departmental budget, allocating resources effectively to support ongoing operations, projects, and initiatives.

·       Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource utilization to maximize value for CENGN.

Key Competencies/Qualifications:

 

Experience:  Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering or related discipline, including leadership roles.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience in R&D engineering/DevOps environments and procurement process
  • Experience working with Atlassian toolset including Confluence and JIRA
  • Deep understanding of applied AI/ML including experience in designing and implementing AI-powered products and solutions in physical systems.

Education:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience

Language Requirements:

  • English oral, reading, and writing
  • French oral, reading, and writing or any other language would be considered an asset
