NORTH DISTRICT COMMUNICATION SKILLS SPECIALIST TEACHER
An employment opportunity exists for a Temporary Part-Time (0.2 FTE Literacy, 0.2 FTE Numeracy) North District Communication Skills Specialist Teacher effective September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
Requirements:
- A university teaching major, or its equivalent, relevantly related to the teaching position;
- Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
- The focus of this role will be to support teachers to enhance students' Communication Skills in both literacy and numeracy;
- Work in collaboration with the District staff to plan and provide professional learning opportunities and support teachers in designing for personalization of student learning;
- Have proven skills with creating strength-based, core competency centred student action plans and supporting student success though individual student goal setting;
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
- Understanding of local resources and environment;
- Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
Competitive Salary: $30,166 - $48,089 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $1,400 per annum
Travel Allowance: $482 per annum
Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts
**Teachers currently employed with the district need only submit a letter of intent. **
