About the role
We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to join our QEA team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Automation testing using Selenium and Java. This role requires a hands-on approach to designing, developing, and executing automation test scripts with a deep understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks for both new and existing systems for our banking clients.
In this role, you will
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test frameworks and test scripts for Java/Spring-based applications using Java, Selenium, TestNG/Junit, Cucumber and REST Assured for API Automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for testing and automation projects.
- Implement automation testing using Selenium and Java to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, component, contract and end-to-end testing for new features and existing applications.
- Conduct API testing to validate the functionality and performance of software interfaces.
- Utilize Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery ensuring seamless deployment of applications.
- Monitor and report on testing progress identifying and resolving any issues that arise during the testing process.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status and testing outcomes.
Required skills: what you need to be considered
- Overall 4-6 years of experience as an Automation Test Engineer with Java, Selenium, Cucumber.
- Strong programming skills in Java for writing automated test scripts.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and running test cases for functional and UI testing.
- Good experience with API testing using Postman and Rest Assured.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile.
- Individual Contributor with good communication skills.

- Experience with banking sector is preferred.
