Role Overview
The Product Portfolio Manager, Loyalty & Partnerships is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, governing, and delivering a portfolio of digital products that advance WestJet’s strategic objectives and guest experience.
Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role provides portfolio-level ownership, strategic direction, and people leadership while serving as a trusted partner to business, technology, and leadership stakeholders.
Operating within an agile environment, this role owns the product strategy and roadmap for the Loyalty & Partnerships digital ecosystem, ensuring product investments drive measurable guest, member and commercial outcomes. This role operates as a stream-aligned product leader within the Loyalty & Partnerships business domain, working in close partnership with the Commercial Loyalty organization to translate business strategy into product outcomes and measurable product OKRs.
It is a highly visible role with influence across multiple product portfolios.
A core focus of this role is close partnership with the Loyalty & Partnerships business unit, acting as a strategic product leader and partner. The Portfolio Product Manager collaborates with business leaders to translate commercial, partner, and member experience into scalable digital capabilities, aligned roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
This role represents the primary digital product leadership position for the Loyalty & Partnership domain, ensuring strong alignment between product strategy, technology capabilities and the commercial goals of the loyalty program.
This position is a 20-month leave backfill. Due to the leadership nature of this role, and the close collaboration required across teams, preference will be given to candidates based in Calgary.
Product Portfolio Scope
The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for the digital product ecosystem supporting WestJet’s Loyalty & Partnerships business domain. This includes the member-facing and partner-integrated digital experiences that enable loyalty program growth, engagement, and operational effectiveness. The portfolio includes:Loyalty Member Digital experiences across the following products:

WestJet’s inflight entertainment platform

WestJet’s Loyalty Agent platform

WestJet’s Member Services (API)

Loyalty program sign-up, authentication, and member sign-in capabilities. Member identity, authentication, and security enhancements.

Loyalty member information collection ie. Payment information, personal information, travel documents, etc.

Loyalty program adoption and member engagement capabilities (ie. Marketing Offers, Tier inspiration)

Digital integrations supporting loyalty partnerships and partner expansion
Responsibilities
The Portfolio Product Manager is accountable for end-to-end ownership of the product portfolio, ensuring strategy, delivery, quality, velocity, effort, and capability maturity are balanced to maximize guest and business value.
Key responsibilities include:

Own and evolve the portfolio product strategy and long‑term roadmap for Loyalty & Partnerships products, ensuring alignment to enterprise objectives, KPIs, and guest outcomes

Translate Loyalty & Paternship business objectives into product strategy, product OKRs and measurable digital outcomes

Lead, coach, and mentor Product Owners, building a high‑performing team and strengthening the broader Product Management practice
-
Provide portfolio‑level leadership and governance to balance value‑based prioritization, delivery commitments, budgets, and forecasting across multiple complex initiatives
-
Own roadmap trade-offs across the product portfolio, ensuring product teams remain focused on the highest-value opportunities

Partner closely with business, technology, and external stakeholders to translate commercial, partner, and guest needs into scalable, intuitive digital experiences
-
Act as the primary technology product partner to the Loyalty business unit, ensuring strong alignment between business strategy and product delivery

Drive clear product vision and alignment through compelling storytelling, using strong written and verbal communication
-
Guide teams through complex problems, leveraging data, insights, and sound judgment to inform strategic and investment decisions
-
Maintain strong technical fluency, collaborating with technical leaders to assess trade‑offs, evaluate emerging technologies, and identify new opportunities
-
Champion continuous improvement by researching and applying digital and AI‑enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency, product quality, and guest experience
-
Build and manage strategic internal and external partnerships that support portfolio objectives and enable successful roadmap delivery
-
Ensure product teams operate with strong product discipline including discovery practice, outcome-driven planning and clear priortization
Experience & Qualifications
Education
-
Recognized Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Technology, or Product Management
Leadership Experience
-
Minimum 5-7 years of experience leading and coaching teams in a fast-paced environment
-
Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and develop strong product leaders
-
Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly, influence decision-making, and align diverse stakeholders
Product Management Experience
-
7–10 years of experience in Product Management, with demonstrated ownership of multiple products or a product portfolios
-
Proven experience developing product strategies and roadmaps, launching new capabilities, and operating within cross functional teams
-
Experience with digital products such as mobile applications, websites, and e-commerce platforms
-
Strong understanding of agile software development and product lifecycle management
-
Experience operating as a strategic partner to a business domain, translating business goals into product strategy and delivery
-
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and relationship building skills
-
High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to manage sensitive or confidential information
-
Experience with the airline, travel or loyalty industry is strongly preferred
