About the role

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary Grade 6 Humanities Teacher at Grimshaw Public School. This position will commence on August 27, 2026 and continuing until June 29, 2027. The initial assignment will include Language Arts and Social Studies at the grade 6 Level, and some complementary programming.

Grimshaw Public School is an exciting and dynamic school located in the town of Grimshaw, 20 kms west of Peace River. The school serves students from grades K-12. A strong academic program and a full range of athletic programs, supported by the addition of a new community recreation multiplex center, are offered to the Grimshaw Public School students. Qualifications

Training and/or successful teaching experience at the elementary level

Ability to differentiate instruction. A demonstrated commitment to student achievement. Effective classroom management. Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents. Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Ability to coach team sport at a high school level.

Requirements

Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate. Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, dated within six (6) months of application.

Annual Salary Range: $ 66,520 to $ 112,451 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division).
