About the role

Experience Aviva Together, we are Aviva. Our values — Care, Commitment, Community, and Confidence — guide how we show up for each other and for our customers. Individually, they’re words. Together, they define who we are.

At Aviva Canada, we put people first — our employees, our customers, and our communities. We’re proud of a culture built on care, inclusion, and collaboration, where your voice matters and your growth is supported. We’re not just about insurance; we’re about making a real difference by protecting what matters most.

The Opportunity Help shape the future of one of Aviva Canada’s most strategic external partnerships as our Partnership Governance & Delivery Lead. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the governance framework and lead the coordinated delivery of national underwriting, product, and system changes for a major distribution partner. You’ll act as the central force ensuring alignment across Personal Insurance, IT, Risk, and partner stakeholders — driving seamless execution, regulatory compliance, and minimal disruption to client services.

This is a unique opportunity to strengthen trust with a key partner, influence customer‑centric outcomes on a national scale, and contribute to the continued growth of a high‑value, rapidly evolving partnership.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee partnership governance internally and externally, ensuring alignment with established governance structures and the Partnership Distribution Agreement.
  • Coordinate all IT system, product, and underwriting changes, ensuring business requirements, testing, readiness steps, and communications are fully planned and executed.
  • Lead operational incident management activities, coordinating tracking, monitoring, and resolution efforts across Personal Insurance, IT, Corporate Risk, and partner teams.
  • Manage delivery risk and maintain credibility by ensuring strategic objectives are completed on time and aligned to partner business needs.
  • Ensure all Governance Framework Standards and contractual commitments are consistently met.
  • Maintain documentation related to governance, processes, and procedures in alignment with internal guidelines and requirements.
  • Work with both Aviva and partner training teams to ensure training remains accurate, compliant, and fit for purpose.
  • Lead communication to partners on regulatory changes as required by provincial regulators.
  • Coordinate national underwriting, product, and system changes to support efficient adoption in partner sales and service processes.
  • Collect business requirements from partners and collaborate with analysts, finance, and IT to assess benefits, effort, and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure testing requirements are accurate, complete, and aligned to partner expectations.
  • Support the PI Enablement team in prioritizing BAU, small, and medium change requests by outlining benefits and impacts.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate a comprehensive Partnership Change Schedule outlining timelines, milestones, risks, and progress.
  • Coordinate all partner‑facing communications related to underwriting, product, and system changes.
  • Manage incidents impacting business operations, including support during scheduled weekend updates, testing, or incident responses.
  • Partner with 1st and 2nd line risk teams to ensure effective oversight and governance practices are maintained.

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, or a related field — or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3–5+ years in the P&C insurance industry.
  • 3–5+ years coordinating cross‑functional change involving product, underwriting, and systems with external partners.
  • Experience with Guidewire applications (ideally PolicyCenter).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage integrated change schedules, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and escalation.
  • Experience coordinating business interruption incidents, including triage, communication, workarounds, root‑cause tracking, and verification of resolution.
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across multiple business lines.
  • Experience with personal lines underwriting and products.
  • Familiarity with Canadian regulatory frameworks (UDAP, FTC, TAC, CASL, etc.).
  • Strong cross‑functional coordination skills across training, underwriting, product, IT, finance, analytics, and operations.
  • Skilled communicator, capable of producing executive‑ready briefings and structured partner updates.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with insurance distribution partnerships or similar partner‑driven models.
  • Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation (asset).
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification (asset).

What You’ll Get

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $95,000 to $135,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
  • Compelling rewards package including base compensation, eligibility for annual bonus, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Hybrid flexible work model .
  • Outstanding career development opportunities.
  • We’ll support your professional development education.
  • Competitive vacation package with the option to purchase 5 extra days off per year.
  • Employee-driven programs focused on gender, LGBTQ+, origins, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Corporate wellness programs to support our employees’ physical and mental health.
