About the role
EXPERIENCED PAYROLL CLERK REQUIRED
Caressant Care is looking for a full-time payroll clerk to assist in processing payroll for our 25 Nursing and Retirement Homes in a multi-union environment. This position is located at our Head Office in Woodstock, ON and will be a full-time contract position of 12-14 months starting November 2025.
Responsibilities
- Ensure payroll accuracy by reviewing and correcting timesheets while contacting homes directly with any inquiries
- Import payroll timesheets and vacation batches into our in-house payroll system
- Calculate retroactive pay increases
- Update Employee profiles
- Process bi-weekly payrolls
- Generate payroll reports for homes
- Process Record of Employments
- Reconcile year-end reports and process T4's for employees
- Provide support for homes with an automated staff scheduling system
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of payroll experience
- Candidate must be very detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with our homes and internal office staff
- Candidate must have strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Applicants without the relevant payroll experience will not be considered
