##About the position

Duties

  • Provide advice to the Regional Director General on all corporate, policy, operational and strategic matters pertaining to the development and attainment of regional priorities; and the analysis and development of strategic policy positions concerning the political, socio-economic, environmental, Indigenous and non-Indigenous issues.
  • Provides strategic analyses and prepares briefings, presentations, discussion papers, policy proposals for the Regional Director General and for senior departmental officials on a range of complex and sensitive issues.
  • Participates with and facilitates effective working relationships with Regional Executive Committee members and program officers on the development of policy initiatives for the regional programs.
  • Alerts and advises Regional Director General and senior management of the department of major policy and program initiatives and issues affecting regional operations and to assist in the executive decision-making process.
  • Supervision of administrative personnel for efficient and effective operations of Executive Office.

Intent of the process The immediate intent of the process is to staff indeterminately one position at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established, which could be used to staff temporary, and/or permanent positions, with similar qualifications, various linguistic profiles, various security requirements, and/or various tenures at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, within the Yukon Region.
