The Family Wellness Program provides trauma-informed, family-centred services that support the safety, wellbeing, connection, and permanency of children, youth, and families. Through collaboration with Children and Family Services, community partners, and natural supports, Family Wellness staff help families build on their strengths while navigating complex challenges and life transitions.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Wellness Supervisor to provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Family Wellness professionals delivering services throughout the greater Edmonton region.
Position Summary
The Family Wellness Supervisor provides leadership within the Family Wellness Program by supervising, mentoring, coaching, and supporting Family Wellness staff. The role also includes administrative oversight to help ensure children, youth, and families receive high-quality services.
The Supervisor works closely with the Family Wellness Program Manager, community partners, and internal leadership to support staff development, service quality, participant safety, and program accountability. The successful candidate will bring compassion, accountability, collaboration, professionalism, inclusion, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
Direct supervision, mentorship, coaching, and support to a team 8–12 Family Wellness staff. Staff development, including orientation, onboarding, and training of new employees. Support staff in managing complex family situations, assessing risk, navigating crises, and delivering high quality services. Promote staff wellness, accountability, and professional growth. Program oversight and service quality assurance. Ensure culturally responsive, strength-based, and trauma-informed practices are embedded in service delivery. Work collaboratively with and build effective working relationships with Children and Family Services, community agencies, schools, service providers, and other stakeholders. Participate in leadership-level on-call rotations and support urgent situations as required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate
Superior communication skills across meetings, reports, documentation, and digital platforms. Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and administrative skills. The ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience supporting staff through crisis situations and complex family dynamics. Knowledge of child and family serving systems and community resources.
Education and Experience
Degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field. Minimum three years' experience working with children, youth, and families in a human services setting. Minimum one year of leadership, supervisory, team lead, or management experience. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to meet agency driving requirements. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Record Check.
