About the Role
We’re seeking a Head Miller to join our high-performing operations team at our 15,300 cwt/day wheat flour mill in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This key operational role supports daily milling activities, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Head Miller will uphold ADM’s high standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
Reporting directly to the Mill Superintendent, the Head Miller will ensure the mill runs efficiently, safely, and sustainably—helping ADM deliver the highest-quality flour to customers worldwide.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee efficient daily operation and maintenance of 15,300 cwt/day mills for maximum yield and productivity
- Model and reinforce all safety practices and ensure compliance with ADM policies and regulatory standards
- Train and mentor operational staff while developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize plant performance and yield KPIs
- Coordinate production schedules and monitor department operations to ensure efficiency and quality targets are met
- Drive employee engagement, team development, and process improvements across the facility
- Conduct safety audits, root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for incidents and unsafe behaviors
- Maintain accurate safety, environmental, and operational documentation and records
- Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality systems, including GMP and food defense practices
- Prepare for and participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits
What You Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Milling Science, or a related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on supervisory or production experience in a milling or manufacturing environment
- Thorough working knowledge of milling processes, equipment, and systems
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Commitment to maintaining ADM’s world-class standards in safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, physically demanding environments (standing, climbing, confined spaces, temperature extremes)
