About the role

Junior Estimator – Rebar Are you a motivated individual, new to the estimating field looking for an exciting opportunity to join a growing rebar fabrication company?

We are currently seeking a junior estimator to join our team and bring their expertise on successful bids and managing projects. The right individual will have the chance to work with a team and implement proven methods to monitor and analyze performance of estimated projects.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build estimates and ensure accurate quantity takeoffs
  • Continuously hunt for new project opportunities, tenders and prequalification’s
  • Manage the trade invitation process
  • Maintain a data base to measure wins/losses and to track performance
  • Work closely with senior company leadership to prioritize opportunities and tenders
  • Analyze project plans/specs and coordinate with project team to confirm full scope
  • Establish estimating standards for all future estimates based on best practices and analysis
  • Identify risks and how to mitigate
  • Liases with various teams to ensure adherence to project scope and delivery timelines
  • Review estimates from contracted estimators to ensure adherence to scope and check for potential mistakes
  • Submit RFI’s as required
  • Perform follow-up calls and email
  • Assist with project planning
  • Assist with estimating change orders and change directives

Requirements

  • Post secondary education
  • Minimum 2 years of rebar estimating experience
  • High level of ability to read and understand construction drawings and addenda
  • Proven level of knowledge with estimating systems, bid preparation and execution
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and focused
  • In office work. No hybrid or remote
