What is the Opportunity?
As the Senior Manager, Business Management, you will play a central role within the Total Fund Management team of the Chief Investment Office at RBC Insurance. You will be responsible for the business management activities within the Chief Investment Office, including cost analysis, contract negotiations, access administration, onboarding, and preparing presentations for key stakeholders.
This position requires strong financial and organizational expertise, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a talent for working cross-functionally to drive operational efficiency and governance.
Your work will help ensure effective resource allocation, strategic vendor management, and organizational alignment, while supporting the CIO in delivering on key initiatives and governance requirements.
What will you do?
- Manage 'wallet' spend allocations across external managers and trading partners reporting in the Chief Investment Office (Trading, Data Analytics, Research).
- Oversee system costs across the Chief Investment Office reporting verticals and negotiate license costs with data providers (Bloomberg, Credit Rating Agencies, etc.).
- Administer organizational structure activities including access controls, shared drive governance, distribution lists, onboarding of staff, co-op hiring, real estate, and IT needs.
- Prepare and manage agenda materials for the Investment Committee of the Board, Insurance Operating Committee, and RBC Insurance Board.
- Partner with the Data Analytics team to design and deliver dashboards to track business management activities and costs.
- Support Chief Investment Office business operations through analysis, benchmarking, and best practice recommendations for vendor and budget management.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- 6-8 years of experience in business management, financial planning, risk frameworks, or asset management.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of cost analysis, vendor management, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Demonstrated ability to manage organizational processes, reporting, and governance activities.
Nice-to-have:
- CFA designation or progress towards CFA.
- Experience supporting governance committees and preparing executive-level presentations.
- Proficiency in data science and reporting tools (Python, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI).
