Product Development Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
The Product Development Coordinator plays a key role in bringing new products to market through the day-to-day execution of product development activities from concept through launch. By coordinating product development activities and timelines, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and maintaining accurate, consistent documentation, this individual ensures that projects are completed on time to deliver innovative, high-quality products to our customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Coordination
- Develop and maintain the master product development tracker, calendar and related project plans;
- Monitor progress, flagging delays and proactively identify solutions to keep projects on track;
- Schedule meetings, record/circulate meeting notes and follow up action items.
Cross Functional Coordination & Communication
- Act as the primary point of communication between production, product design, sales, and marketing to:
- share information
- ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and product requirements
- provide status updates;
- Coordinate the handoff of documents, materials, etc. between departments to ensure on-time product launches.
Data/File/Documentation Control
- Create and maintain product spec sheets, pricing files, sell sheets, quote files and other planning documents;
- Maintain shared folders for product development documents, image libraries, etc. to ensure information is current, consistent and accessible across teams;
- Update and maintain information in other shared databases as required.
Product Development Support
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities;
- Participate in the preparation of presentations, product line sheets, and internal communications;
- Coordinate product testing and review samples to ensure quality and consistency.
Reporting
- Prepare reports summarizing project status, timelines, and key performance metrics;
- Collect and summarize feedback from internal teams and customers.
General Responsibilities
- Assist with trade show and event coordination, including sample preparation, logistics, etc.;
- Provide showroom support including styling, organization, and product display setup;
- Contribute to special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post secondary degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline (or equivalent experience);
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing/product development coordination role;
- Prior experience in marketing floral products or other perishable consumer products a definite asset;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Able to travel as required to customer locations, trade shows, etc.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong organization and project coordination skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a fast-paced environment;
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
