Job Description
Join the Oliver & Bonacini team as an Event Bartender, where your beverage knowledge and hospitality skills will help create memorable experiences for our guests. Under the guidance of our Front of House Management Team, you will develop a strong understanding of our beverage offerings, prepare and serve drinks according to O&B standards, confidently answer guest questions, and provide exceptional service throughout each event. You will be responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient bar area, ensuring beverage quality and presentation standards are consistently met, and supporting event setup and breakdown. We are looking for someone with previous bartending experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality experiences.
The day to day
Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and offering knowledgeable recommendations about beverages, cocktails, wine, and event services. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Oliver & Bonacini standards and event specifications. Ensure beverages are presented professionally, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area throughout events. Prepare the bar setup and assist with event breakdown, including equipment, supplies, and service areas. Monitor beverage quality, presentation, and consistency while ensuring proper service standards are maintained. Communicate beverage selections, specials, and relevant event details clearly to guests and team members. Restock bar supplies, including glassware, ice, garnishes, and other necessary items to support smooth service. Monitor inventory levels and assist with maintaining proper organization of bar products and supplies. Maintain strong floor awareness by anticipating guest needs, clearing glassware, and supporting the overall guest experience. Follow all Smart Serve, responsible alcohol service, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards and procedures. Accommodate special guest requests and dietary considerations with care and attention. Assist with waste removal, recycling, and maintaining a clean event environment as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a similar hospitality or event environment. Smart Serve Certification is required. Strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails, spirits, wine, and responsible alcohol service. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional while working in a fast-paced event environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage a busy bar area. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with guests and team members. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late nights. Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Availability expectations
Full-Time Employees: provide a minimum of 5 days of availability each week. Part-Time Employees: provide a minimum of 3 days of availability, including at least one weekend day.
Additional Information
Wage starts at $17.60/hour + gratuities. Compensation may vary depending on location, as gratuity amounts differ by venue. We are currently hiring multiple Event Servers to support staffing needs across various Oliver & Bonacini locations.
