We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a range of construction projects, helping to drive successful project planning, tendering, and delivery.

We design and build customized modular structures for residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout Western Canada.
We are a WorkSafeBC COR/OSSE certified company because we believe that everyone should go home safe to their families every day. Located in Westbank, we are a growing turnkey custom builder of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Our projects are throughout BC.
The Job:
- Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Production, Design and Sales to ensure accurate costing and profitability of projects.
- Receive tender documents and create cost analysis estimate that includes all material, labor, freight, etc.
- Manage estimates and close tenders in conjunction with the sales department.
- Provide specifications and conceptual design estimates to Project Managers.
- Oversee project budgets and budget reviews.
- Perform post bid review meetings, determine and communicate strategies for improvement.
- Establish unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts.
- Design and implement standards and processes for estimating.
- Design, build and implement estimating models for various project types.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates for medium to large projects.
- Oversee materials and pricing research.
- Design and implement an estimating database.
- Maintain a preferred vendor, supplier and trade database.
- Advise on proposal procedures and create successful bid strategies.
- Analyze and make recommendations on proposals.
- Review bid documents and scopes of work.
- Verify costs of Change Orders as required.
- Use estimating knowledge to assist with business development opportunities.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and ensure appropriate costs are captured.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with modular or wood frame construction is required.
- 2-3 years experience as an Estimator or a combination of relevant experience and education.
- Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings and specifications and current construction practices and methodology.
- The ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Preference given to those with Sage estimating software experience.
- Must have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and must be highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven goal setting and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills required.
Compensation:
The typical hiring range for this position is $75,000 - 100,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
