About the Role:

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Service Technician is someone who thrives on independent work, field service travel, and supporting cutting-edge medical systems. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading equipment that contributes to better patient outcomes nationwide.

This role requires frequent travel to customer sites within British Columbia and occasionally across Canada where required to support business and customer needs.

The successful applicant will:

  • Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical and optical equipment.
  • Conduct technical inspections and modify new equipment to meet CSA standards.
  • Provide electronic and phone troubleshooting support to customers.
  • Schedule and perform installations, repairs, maintenance, and training.
  • Respond to service calls promptly and organize parts and travel efficiently.
  • Ensure timely preventative maintenance and optimal equipment performance.
  • Submit expense reports and manage trunk stock and parts returns.
  • Document service work accurately using internal systems.
  • Provide timely service reports and customer follow-ups.
  • Implement equipment upgrades.
  • Support new product launches with technical documentation and planning.
  • Collaborate to resolve escalated issues.
  • Support departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain flexible hours to meet dynamic business and customer demands

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:

  • Diploma in Electronic Technician/Technologist or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years in field service or lab environment (laser experience preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics.
  • Familiarity with optics and laser technology is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional communication.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and travel regularly (valid driver’s license and passport required).
