This position is a CUPE 59 position and will be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Should it not be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, external candidates will be considered.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Superintendent, this position cleans and sanitizes Police vehicles and provides support services to garage personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cleans and details exterior of Police vehicles and equipment.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the interiors of Police vehicles and equipment, as well as cleaning and sanitizing after biological incidents such as bodily fluids, etc.
  • Assists the garage staff with the cleaning of service bays.
  • Provides pickup and delivery service for garage.
  • Fuelling of Police Fleet vehicles as required.
  • Completes required documentation such as inspection forms, service reports, etc.
  • Assists garage staff with the performance of maintenance inspections of Police vehicles.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies such as cleaning/bio PPE
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Three months related experience
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
  • Possession of WHMIS training certificate, training provided upon hire.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the materials, practices and equipment used in cleaning and sanitization.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement in the care and handling of motor vehicles.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Skill in the operation of a computer.

Requires Security Check

Ability to pass the Saskatoon Police Service security clearance process.

Weekly Hours: 40

Salary Range: $20.13 to $22.20 CAD per hour (2026 rates)
