Job Description
Join Egis Canada as a Construction/Engineering Field Inspector and step into a vital role within our Contract Administration Division. As part of a dynamic team, you’ll act as the “eyes and ears” of the owner, playing a critical role in delivering infrastructure projects that shape communities. Whether you are just beginning your career or bringing years of experience, this role offers hands-on opportunities to gain deep technical knowledge, hone problem-solving skills, and advance within our collaborative and innovative environment.
Your efforts will directly contribute to the successful completion of infrastructure projects across Ontario, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to project standards. From maintaining meticulous documentation to liaising with stakeholders, every day will offer the chance to learn, grow, and make an impact.
We are looking to build a strong roster of candidates we can call upon to support our Clients in throughout Ontario with engineering and construction inspection, at all experience levels, during the 2026 construction season.

Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Act as the “eyes and ears” of the owner, providing real-time reporting and insights on construction activities.

Maintain comprehensive daily records of contractor performance, issues encountered, and resolutions applied.

Collaborate with senior inspectors and contract administrators to identify and address regulatory or contractual infractions.
-
Verify work quantities, prepare progress reports, and maintain accurate documentation for project transparency.

Build strong working relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and team members to facilitate seamless project delivery.

Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, with opportunities to mentor junior staff as you gain experience.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS – all levels
- University degree or College diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in engineering and construction inspection works.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and attention to detail skills.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations within the area.
EXPERIENCE – Junior Inspector
- 1-3 years related work experience;
- Registered as EIT with the PEO, if applicable, or OACETT designation as a rcji; or ability to obtain this designation within 6 months;
EXPERIENCE – Senior Inspector

3-5 years experience in structural, watermain, asphalt, and/or grade inspection on MTO or municipal projects;

Demonstrated experience as a Construction Inspector on at least two (2) previous projects;
-
Registered as EIT, if applicable, or P. Eng. with the PEO or OACETT designation as rcsi; or ability to obtain this designation within 6 months
