Your Opportunity The Department of Student Housing & Residence Life (SHRL) practices and upholds five core values of team, integrity, service, student-centered and fun. Team members working within the department of Student Housing and Residence Life, have the opportunity to be a member of a high performing team that fosters personal and professional development, ongoing learning, and a passion for education.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Residence Operations, the Residence Operations Coordinator is part of a the growing Housing Services team that provides support to SHRL's operational, administrative, facilities and student life areas. This role will provide coordination and planning for various operational activities including, asset management, move in and move out processes, summer conference activities and day-to-day residence operations. We strive to provide an environment that offers a high value service experience and one that contributes to an overall positive experience for our community. You will handle sensitive and/or confidential information so knowledge and awareness of FIPPA is required. Attention to detail is also importantwhen producing reports, analyzing data and producing content for training, hiring and communication purposes. At times you will be required to apply established standards when responding to emergencies.
Hours of Work are Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:00pm onsite. This position has occasional evenings and weekends work to support students living in a 24/7 residence environment. Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Overseeing day-to-day service delivery requirements and operational needs
- Scheduling logistics required to move incoming and outgoing residents
- Liaising with facilities or caretaking staff to facilitate resolution of building issues
- Analyzing customer serviceprocedures and making recommendations for improvements
- Creating and editing a standard operating procedures manual
- Analyzing and recommending staffing and student service needs
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of experience in a post secondary student housing environment
- Minimum two years of experience with StarRez or equivalent housing management software
- Experience resolving customer service complaints and escalating when appropriate
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Experience managing relationships with clients and vendors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Experience managing competing priorities in a high volume, fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills
- Intermediate skills with MS 365 and Microsoft Office
Assets (Nonessential)
- Experience responding to complex student needs in on on-call or emergency situation
- Experience planning or executing large move in/out processes for student housing settings
- Experience with inventory management processes
- Ability to analyze and apply continuous improvement principles to process and service delivery
