We Invite Applications For The Temporary Position Of

  • 0.20 FTE Grade 11 Online Learning Foundations of Math Teacher
  • Located in the Comox Valley

Navigate/NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School.

The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate

  • Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment
  • Recent, substantive experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of Math within an online learning environment at the secondary school level
  • Experience, training, and education in adult education
  • Recent experience teaching Math to adult learners in an adult education environment
  • Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system
  • Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators
  • Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person
  • Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
