This is a new, dynamic, and creative role in a multi-disciplinary team that offers exciting opportunities to collaborate with regional youth representatives and cross-functional teams. You will help develop and deliver youth wellness initiatives - including our Youth Wellness Summits – that will advance our ongoing initiatives to support First Nations youth health and wellness.
Title: Youth Wellness Liaison
Salary: $74,663 - $93,328 - $102,660 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Term until March 2027
Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Vancouver Island, BC, located on the ancestral territories of the Coast Salish, Kwakwaka'wakw, and Nuu-chah-nulth Nations – Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy
About The Role As Youth Wellness Liaison, you will bring subject matter expertise to health and wellness programs aimed to uplift and empower youth across the FNHA Vancouver Island region and its First Nations communities. You will be collaborating with internal teams and external partners to shape and implement initiatives that addresses youth needs—enhancing education, prevention, and public health awareness. You will also help promote LGB2QIA2S+ wellness through programs focused on life preservation, public health literacy and promotion, and holistic wellbeing.
About You To be successful in this role you will have/be –
Education And Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Social Services, Education, Child and Youth Care, Indigenous Studies or Psychology, plus 1-2 years of recent and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and/or interacting with youth, families and LGBTQIA2s+ peoples.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
- Knowledge of the BC health systems and services, and community-based health program planning and delivery.
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on youth, child, and community wellness.
- Knowledge of suicide prevention, including risk/protective factors and life promotion strategies
- Familiarity with systems-based child and youth care and community planning approaches

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
