YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Support leadership of day-to-day operations for the Underground Mine, leading by example and build a safe, and strong employee culture;
-
Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of underground mining operations employees in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner, either personally or through subordinate supervisors;
-
Regularly monitor costs, productivity, safety and employee motivation;
-
Actively review 3-month plan ensuring operations is set up to deliver schedule;
-
Interact and collaborate with all applicable departments to establish, monitor and achieve production targets, quality standards and optimization projects;
-
Execute priorities, plan and direct underground mining activities by leveraging best available technologies and practices to ensure effective and efficient mining operations and costs;
-
Review and analyze production to determine the sources of variance between production specifications and goals;
-
Collaborate and communicate effectively with all appropriate parties, develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operational problems, improve efficiency as well as ore quality;

Interact and collaborate with all applicable departments to establish, monitor and achieve production targets, quality standards and optimization projects;

Manage the performance and development of direct reports;

Ensure compliance with Agnico Eagle Mining Polices and Procedures;

Coach and mentor subordinates in regards to employee relations, safety, environmental, productivity and cost issues;

Support the development and preparation of capital and operating budgets;
-
Provide input for short and long range mine planning development;
-
Support investigations involving safety incidents, accidents and near misses;
-
Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
-
Execute all tasks and projects assigned by the Underground Mine Superintendent.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or related discipline, with 8 years of experience in Underground mining operations;
-
Leadership as well as interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills;
-
Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude;
-
Able to develop and foster a lean, efficient and dynamic team environment;
-
Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations;
-
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 4/3 or 5/2 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
Compensation Statement
In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
